Logitech MX Revolution mouse


The new Logitech MX Revolution cordless laser mouse uses a laser diode that’s several times faster and precise than the older LEDs. Other features include a nice little charging dock as well as a battery indicator that tells you when your mouse is running out of juice. The Revolution comes complete with an added feature called MicroGear – a free-spinning motorised alloy scroll wheel that lets you fly through long documents and instantly stop wherever you want. ARCHOS 104


Here is another non-iPod option for an MP3 player. The Archos 104 sports a nifty 4GB hard drive and 1.5-inch colour OLED display. The player is twice as thick as the iPod nano but about the same height. The digital audio player is available in three colours black, silver and pink. The 104 is capable of playing MP3, WMA, WAV and protected WMA while displaying the CD jacket or some photo you want to see on its colour display. The battery on this baby gets charged via the USB and can last up to 13 hours. The Archos 104 weighs 80 gms and retails for $160.

Logitech’s Quickcall USB Speakerphone


Making calls from your PC over the Internet just got easier with Logitech’s Quickcall USB Speakerphone. The VOIP device is said to deliver excellent voice quality by using a two-microphone array – one on each side of the wing-shaped phone – that can capture voices and sounds from a wider area in a room, including whispers from several feet away. The QuickCall also eliminates echoes caused by a speaker and microphone in close proximity. Additionally, when privacy is needed, the user can plug in a headset to use the device. The Quickcall draws power from the USB port and requires no other power source. The device retails internationally for $99 (Rs 4,600 approx).

EPSON Perfection V100



Epson has recently announced the launch of their Perfection V100 that’s specifically designed for home users and photo enthusiasts. Amongst its features, the V100 boasts of 3200dpi optical resolution and a 48-bit colour depth. It also features a new hinge design, enabling one to scan books, magazines and 3D objects easily. The V100 comes complete with four direct access buttons for quick access to common functions including start, copy, scan to PDF and scan to email. Other features include Epson Photo Fix that can automatically adjust the brightness, sharpness, colour saturation and colour balance of the image. The device that retails in India for Rs 10,250.

A Sony employee displays the company’s newest digital camera, the ‘DSC-W50’, equipped with a 6.2 mega-pixel CCD and a 6.3-18.9mm/F2.8-5.2 Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom lens on its slim body. Sony will launch the camera on 8 September with an estimated price of 30,000 yen (Rs 12,200 approx)

Canon HV10 camcorder

HD (High Definition) cam manufactured by Canon is a lightweight, consumer-friendly HD model that captures video in the 1080i format to HDV tapes. The HV10 has a 0.37-inch CMOS image sensor, which the company describes as Full HD that means videos at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution. Other features of the HDDV camcorder include instant auto focus, optical image stabilisation, still images at 3.1-megapixel directly stored to a Mini-SD card and 10x optical zoom. The HV10 goes on sale internationally in September for $1,300 (Rs 60,346 approx).

Dell recently announced its newest workstation PC, the Precision 390, that’s targeted at applications ranging from 3-D entertainment to 3-D engineering design.
