The
camera- small enough to be fixed to a
pair of glasses-scan the faces, continually checking expressions and comparing them to its library. The
device uses
facial recognition software to map responses from
eyebrows, lips, nose and mouth.
Camera is
linked to a PDA (Pocket Sized Computer). If the listener is bored, the
computer vibrates to
warn the speaker to brighten up his conservation. The
Bore-ometer, till date, has proved to be
90 per cent accurate when tested with
actors, who are generally more expressive and
64 per cent accurate with
general public. The device could
alert teachers when
students daydream during lectures or even judge a person's success on a date.
