SPECTACLES FOR THE BLIND

The Spectacles for the blind consists of a camera connected to a pair of sunglasses with a built-in distance measuring device in one lens and a pinhole camera in the other. It is a "wearable" computer attached to the glasses worn on the user's belt that receives and processes information from the devices in the glasses. A second computer that sends signals to electrodes directly on the brain's surface. Wiring connections from the computer to the surface of the brain. It is a cool device which will help blind people to see but not the exact picture but they will be able to see likea picture in the negative. You will understand how it look like from the picture. It has not been launched yet but it is on test bases right now in an institute called Dobelle Institute. The researchers hope to have an improved version of the device for commercial use later in the year.
